I may be coming to Rezekne for a year... what's it like?

I may be coming to Rezekne for a year... what's it like?

Could someone give me a good description of what I can expect from Rezekne life, what there is to do. I like sports and going out and meeting people and music - very basic tastes. What's it like please? R

Anonīms	# Nosūtīts: 15 Nov 2007 03:50 Atbildēt Rezekne is not too exciting if you are young and new to town, but I am sure you will have plenty of friends in no time. There is a bar Klondaika, it is a small place, students usually go here, so it is a good place to start. There is a movie theater, I am not sure if it is still showing movies, but you can give it a shot. Several restaurants are available, nothing fancy, but some places are pretty good. You need to learn the language fast, although people speak English, everyone is shy and not willing to use it. It is a small town, but people are friendly and the capital is only 4 hours away by train, which is the most reliable way to travel around here. I hope it helps.
